His hit song “Happy” remained #1 on the Billboard charts for more than 10 weeks while his much anticipated full album “GIRL” was released. This was all after the huge success of the catchy and controversial single he produced with Robin Thick, “Blurred Lines,”  which stayed in the #1 spot longer than any other song released in 2013.  Shall I go on? Later that year he married the beautiful and extremely fashionable Helen Lasichanh and then proceeded to start a collaborative fashion endeavor of his own – Gstar Raw for the Oceans.

Teaming up with big denim producer Gstar Raw and eco fabric company Bionic Yarn, Williams creates a recycled collection that includes jeans, tees, hats, sweats, and jackets. This “green” collection is edgy, comfy and 100% cool.

The South African based company knows that Pharrell, with his environmentally friendly values, can help to make sustainability cool for the next generation and help to protect us and the planet. This is why we are honoring Pharrell Williams on Worlds Ocean Day – he is using his celebrity status for good and continues to care about making sustainability cool.
